During our first season we will have minor league teams of 10-20 players. You will get your first 10 minor leaguers from our first entry draft, which will start when the inaugural draft ends. You may draft any player whose rights are owned by an NHL team, and has fewer than 10 NHL games played. During the periods when free agency is open, you may sign additional players for your minor league roster, using the UFA bidding rules. These players must be under the games-played limit, or be on a real-life minor league team.
You may promote any minor leaguer to your NHL roster if you have an open roster spot for him.
You can demote any player to your minor league roster if: 1) he is in year 1 of his entry level contract, 2) he has played 40 NHL games or less, 3) or if he is on a real-life minor league roster. Rookies who are sent back to their junior teams may also be demoted. You must have a minor league roster spot open to do this.
Prior to the 2013 entry draft the minor league rosters will expand to 25 players.
