I've been asked about who can be on your minor league roster. I hope this clarifies it:
You can demote any player to your minor league roster if: 1) he is in year 1 of his entry level contract, 2) he has played 40 NHL games or less, 3) or if he is on a real-life minor league roster. Rookies who are sent back to their junior teams may also be demoted. You must have a minor league roster spot open to do this.
