League Salary Cap = $85,000,000 Minimum Salary = $500,000All players on your 25-man roster count towards the Cap. Your minor league players do not count. If you make any transaction that puts you over the Cap it will be voided by the Commish. For the 2012-13 season we will use real-life NHL salaries from 2011-12. You can find those salaries here: capgeek.com/archive/index.php?year_id=2011 Use the Cap Hit figure. We will round up to the nearest 2 decimal places. $1,655,000 = $1.66M Contract Length: For your initial roster you may sign 5 players to long-term contracts of 4 or 5 years. All other players contracts will be 1-3 years in length. When these contracts expire the player is an unrestricted free agent(UFA). After the initial rosters are set you may acquire more long-term contracts through trades. Retirements: If a player retires while under FHL contract, he immediately goes off the books and the team is no longer liable for any of his salary. The Radulov Rule: If a player signs with another league, like the KHL, the GM may consider him retired. Entry Level Contracts:Rookies taken in the entry draft or signed through free agency start with a contract of $500,000 for 1-6 years. After the contract expires the players is a restricted free agent(RFA).
